I'm Sarah Bartnicka, a writer and editor based in Toronto, Canada.

I write Milk Bag, a newsletter that feels like catching up with a close friend about the most interesting business stories of the week. Before that, I spent three years helping turn The Peak into the country's most read, most loved daily business newsletter. The company sold to ZoomerMedia for $5 million in 2023. 

I've worked in communications for BMO Capital Markets, an investment bank, supported global marketing and brand efforts for Stikeman Elliott, a corporate law firm, and have worked with financial and corporate clients across the U.S. and Canada, including BlackRock, the BDC, Walmart, and TD Bank, through Edelman Smithfield.

I've contributed to The Globe and Mail, FASHION, The Hustle, BetaKit, and The Narwhal. You may have read my coverage about the tech bro glow-up, the rise in medical tourism, and the decline of the holiday office party. For two years, I co-hosted Free Lunch, a podcast about business and the economy.  

I've helped launch newsletters for Radical Ventures, Willful, and Mercury Bank, and have supported go-to-market brand, content, and communications efforts for Padder, Riven Mouthwash, and Calming Co. I also taught an editorial writing course at Miami Ad School's Toronto campus for two summers.
